Preliminary Task: Evaluation

I think some of the lipsyncing is perfect, yet other examples do not sync to the original at all. It is extremely difficult to sync lips to a voice and still keep the shots at the exact length. If we were to redo this task I would have the original track playing in the background so all actors sync smoother.

Some of the noticable mistakes of our preliminary task are that certain shots are out of focus and other shots are not framed correctly. Certain shots are focused in on the foreground as opposed to the background which makes the overall video feel less professional and less thought out. We also forgot to include the mass amount of handheld camera work which gave the original music video a personal feel, like being in the shoes of one of the members of One Direction.

I believe the preliminary task is very useful for the rest of the course because it demonstrates to us how short some shots in music videos are whilst also allowing us to replicate one and expierience the process ourselves. I have learned to shoot extra footage than you may need as we realised that we were missing footage and we didnt have any spare footage to bulk up the video as a whole. The solution to this would be more shooting time and longer and more shots.
